Are the holes – – –

Are the holes in this

lace woven there

or are they spaces

full of the absence

of those things that are

lost or maybe stolen

like a tracery

of forgetting or

a crazy pattern

stitched around the void?

greyer

I lost it

I couldn't find it

I lost my way

Oh I'm so afraid this journey never ends

deepest night

the night 

keeps growing darker 

I dream that I'm awake 

I can't shake this state I'm in 

Bluebird, fly

I don't believe it sings

any louder
or soars
any higher

but it will not fly at all 
if not given freedom to be
